Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14/06/2026

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data AutoEzi collects, why, and what your rights are.

1. Who we are

The controller of your data is Paulo Pereira (acting as an individual), reachable at hello.autoezi@gmail.com.

2. What we collect

  • Account data: name, email address, password (stored encrypted/hashed), preferred language and notification preferences.
  • Vehicle technical data: license plate, chassis number (VIN), make, model, year, fuel, date of first registration, mileage and interventions (category, date, mileage, garage, description).
  • Personal layer: costs, notes and files you upload (receipts, photos, documents).
  • Usage data: technical logs and essential cookies (session and language) needed for the service to work.

3. How we use it, and on what basis

  • Providing the service (managing your account, recording the vehicle history): performance of the contract.
  • Sending reminders (inspection, services): performance of the contract and your consent, which you can withdraw in Settings.
  • Security and abuse prevention: legitimate interest.
  • Meeting legal obligations, where applicable.

4. The two data layers

AutoEzi separates the vehicle's technical history (facts about the car) from your personal layer (costs, notes, files). This separation protects your privacy when you share or sell the car: the personal layer is yours and is never included in shares.

5. Sharing with third parties

We do not sell your data. We use processors only to run the service:

  • Microsoft Azure — hosting, database and file storage, in the West Europe (Netherlands) and Spain regions, both in the European Union.
  • InfoMatrícula (infomatricula.pt) — when you request plate auto-fill, the plate is sent to InfoMatrícula to retrieve vehicle data. This lookup is initiated by you and optional; you can always enter the data manually. See InfoMatrícula's privacy policy for how they handle data.
  • Email provider — to send reminders and account messages (when enabled).

6. Share links

You can create public, read-only links that show the vehicle's technical history (for example to a buyer). These links never include costs, notes or personal files, they expire, and you can revoke them at any time.

7. Data retention

We keep account data while your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal layer is erased (costs, notes, files and identifying data). The vehicle's technical history is kept in anonymised form, with no link to you, because it belongs to the vehicle's own record (see the Terms). Once detached from your identity, these technical facts are no longer personal data.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to processing, and to data portability. In Settings you can export your data and delete your account at any time. You may also lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority, the Portuguese Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD).

9. Security

Data is transmitted encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are stored hashed, and personal files are held in private storage, never publicly accessible.

10. Cookies

We use only essential cookies: session (to keep you signed in) and language (to remember your chosen language). We use no advertising or tracking cookies.

11. Minors

The service is not intended for anyone under 16.

12. Changes

We may update this policy. We will post the revised version on this page with the new date.
